Katty Eyed Dun

What a tank!!  And no, she's not
a foxtrotter either.  She's a
Quarter Horse.  She is a half sister
to Tiger Eyed Dun, and built for
cattle work deluxe!  I came from
the Quarter Horse world, so
occasionally I have a weak
moment.  But, I couldn't be
prouder of this weak moment! At
only two years old, she's
promising to be everything I
was hoping for and more.
And there is nothing that fits
her better than her name.  I
used to look at horses that
moved like her and think "I
can't wait to ride that!".  Now
I look at her and think "I hope
I can hang on to that.".  She
moves so quickly, and is so
agile, I don't think there's a
cow that can outdo her.
Although I will undoubtedly
trail ride her, she will be going
into competition for cutting as
she gets older.  It's in her blood,
and her moves.  She constantly
amazes me by how fast she can
stop and rollback even in the
tightest corners.  She doesn't care
where each foot is, as long as her
body is between what she wants
and the corner of the pen.
Kat is a true grullo, and may be homozygous for dun as well as the black gene.  We
will be testing her to see.  She still has her faded winter coat on in these pictures,
and the sun even makes her look brown, but when she sheds out, she is the
prettiest blue you could ever hope for.
