Daughter of WGC Danney's Golden Perfection
UPDATE!!
Maya was 2007 Reserve WGC yearling!
And was also World Champion yearling filly!
Watch for her again in 2009 in the Junior
Model Stakes, and in the versatility ring.
Maya is a daughter of my stallion
Danney's Golden Perfection  (Cocoa) ,
and if she is any indication of things to come,
I'm one happy camper.
She has a perfect, true foxtrot, with a head
that moves like an oil rig on fast forward.
Maya was a true trooper in the show ring this
year, and had the same unflappable style she has
out in a pasture.  The only thing missing were the
giant mud holes that she loves to roll in.  Staying
clean is not her favorite thing, and she was thrilled
to leave the show grounds, and take a long, nasty
roll in the first gaping mud hole she could find.
That's OK.  She has another year to perfect that
roll before she's started under saddle.  We'll be
updating the website with videos of her once she's
under saddle this fall.
Her build is stocky and correct, and her foxtrot
is unreal.  Her dam is my mare, Duke's Belle
Star, making Maya a granddaughter of the
late, great, Danney Joe W.
Maya's name comes from the little known fact
(unless your a true chocolate lover)
that chocolate was dubbed "Mayan Gold " after
the Mayan Indians discovered it.
And, Mayan Gold (chocolate) is made from
Cocoa, so with her color and her sire's
nickname, we thought it was a good fit.
